Engagement explosion box

Hey everyone!!
I hope all of you are well hydrated and keeping well as temperature is rising and making it very hot. Unfortunately the hot weather took a toll on me and my daughter. Hence I didn't get much time to craft. I have recently made an engagement theme explosion box on order. It was gift from a friend who is couple's best friend. We discussed and finalized the color combination gold and white. And I am in total love with this.

I have made the faux rings with paper strips and coloured them with viva dcor inka gold. The gold and white card stock I precured locally. The faux paper cake is total stunner I love how red flowers sit beautifully on white n gold cake. The hearts are made to pop in air using acetate sheet. The congratulations quotes are printed on white card stock and then cut using spellbinders die. the lower panel of the box is having pics of the couple.

I hope you like this box as much as I do.
Love,
Shivani

IDCG- May Challenge

Hello everyone!!
Happy labor day!! thanks to all those who makes our life easier. So a  new month brings a new challenge at Indian Quilling Challenge group. Theme for this month is Summers. You can make anything which signifies summer be it colours, textures anything that you can think of. I love summers for many things long days to craft, yummy fruits, summery flowers and cool ice creams. My daughter loves fruits be it melons, litchies, mangoes. Her favorite is watermelon. I am planning to make a few quilled fridge magnets with her favorite fruits. To begin with I have made a quilled watermelon fridge magnet. I hope to come up with more fruits' fridge magnets during this month as our theme this month suits perfectly for this.

I hope you will like my interpretation of the theme. Visit my fellow DT's blogs for more inspiration and do not forget to participate in the current challenge at IQCG.
keep quilling,
Love,
Shivani

Altered pen stand- tutorial

Hey everyone!!
How are you all doing?? recently my cousin got me a pack of zig brush pens from US. A pack of 60!!! As I eagerly waited for them to arrive, I wanted to have a nice pen stand to keep them organized too. So I started my search for a appropriate pen stand or organizer for storing them. I found a rotating pen stand with my local stationary guy and he was generous enough to give me that for free. :)
This is how it looked:

This is the final outcome:

I completely love the final outcome!! all my 60 zig brush pens fit into this, it has good capacity. It can surely hold a few more things. I am planning to store my water brushes too in it.

A few more pictures:

Now comes the tutorial part. Its my first attempt for a tutorial please be kind.
material required:
Box to alter
Pattern papers ( I have used Bob n betty's paper, its an Indian brand)
glue
embellishments
coordinating acrylic color
Step 1:
first of all Clean your box thouroughly to remove all the labels and glue. I have kept this box in soapy water and then scrubbed all the paper and glue with steel wool.
Step 2:
Now measure the dimensions of your box and cut the pattern paper accordingly. My box measured 5.5"*3". I have cut 4 papers of the required size.

Step 3:
Adhere these papers to all the four sides of the box.
Step 4:
paint the box from inside. I have used fevicryl acrylic color in contrasting hot pink pearl color. I love how it goes with the pink flowers of the pattern paper.
Step 5:
Embellish it as you like.
I wanted to give it a look of a girl in flower garden. I have colored tilda from magnolia stamps using camelin brush pens.
I adhered a lace on the edges and on the front side half paper doily to give a background where I can place my beautiful colored and fussy cut tilda.
I used a few flowers from I am roses and the butterfly is die cut using cheery lyn die. I have colored the die cut teal and applied glitter. Oh! I am completely in love with the butterfly.
I have also given some texture on all the other sides using TCW butterly stencil and viva decor Inka gold in old gold.
I hope you will like my project!!

Baby Boy Scrapbook

Hey friends,
Today I am sharing a baby boy scrapbook I have recently made for my nephew. My cousin has come from USA and I went market to search for some gift options for her little one who is just 7 months old. After searching a lot the idea of making handmade gift clicked. And to tell you all this is my first baby boy album as till now I have only made baby girls albums. This is the project which I did in shortest possible time, it took almost 10 hours to finish this one. Generally I take at least a week's time to make scrapbooks. Here are the pictures, Phone pics again.. :(
It looked very cute in person, and was a total hit :)
I just realized that I do not have the cover pic of this album :( will update it asap!!

This is this first page when we open the album.

first page to welcome the baby!!!
 Mom and Dad!!!
This page opens up and has birth stats journalling page.

This is the waterfall page to add all the first pictures of baby like smile, first step, first tooth etc.

Page to have all the namkaran details..

This page is an accordion fold one, the pages are there to store pics of the baby growing up.

one more page to hold the baby's favorites.

on the back cover inside I gave one pocket to hold the wish tags, which the parents can get filled from their guests on baby's first birthday.

supplies used:
All the papers used are DCVW baby boy stack and Papericious baby boy stack. I love how both these stacks gel up to make a beautiful product.
The baby sentiments are printable I got from internet.
The puffy stickers i got from local stationary shop.

I hope you liked the album.

Tag- color trio

Hello everyone!!
I hope you all are doing good. Temperature is rising in my part of world. It has already started boiling over here. But I really enjoy the season of cool drinks and mangoes, litchis, melons!! Oh.. my mouth is watering just hearing the names of the delicious fruits. You guys also keep yourself hydrated with the water rich fruits and drinks and stay cool.
I am late this month in posting the IQCG DT post. I am so sorry for that. Shylaa was sweet enough to forgive me for that. Thanks Shylaa.
So, our challenge of this month at Indian Quilling Challenge group is color trio. We have to use only three colors in our quilling embellishments.
I made a tag for a friend who is very close to my heart. we hardly meet or talk but still there is a special place for her in my heart. This month its her bday, and I am planning to send her this tag with her gift.
I hope you all will like this tag.

I have made the background with the distress inks, and stamped with script stamp from Kaisercraft with versamark dazzle ink. The quote is also Kaiser-craft stamp and stamped with hero arts black ink.

The quilling strips used are 3mm in size, I have used three colors dark yellow for flowers, brown for center and green for leaves. sigh!! my camera is still not working..
Guys participate in our this month's challenge  IQCG-trio of colors

Birthday card

Hello everyone,
I am here with a new card I made on order. It was from a friend to another on her birthday. I was going mad with a lot of ideas in my mind. Its really difficult to choose and stick to one idea when client leaves everything on you, but then I stuck to the easel card. I quite liked the easel card I made earlier. Hence this is similar to earlier easel card I shared but a bit more elaborate with the die cuts and all.

I have mounted the die cuts on craft foam to give them a 3d effect.

Altered Clock

Hey folks,
Today I am here to share an upcycled project. We have a new challenge at IQCG and theme for this month is to recycle or altered art.

In my project i have recycled a cake base. I have used cake base as the base of my clock. I pasted cardstock over it and then using stencil made the background.
After adding clock dial and a lot of quilling flowers the cake base is completely transformed into a beautiful wall clock. I am in love with the outcome. I am sorry for bad pics though as my camera broke and these are mobile pics taken inside.

I hope you will like my project!!!

I hope you all like my attempt for the challenge and are inspired enough to participate in our ongoing challenge. Be sure to visit my fellow DT blogs' for more inspiration.
